Testing different battery chemistries. Today Nickel Metal Hydride

Here's my data for today I put on a shared online spreadsheet.

The speed was significantly higher with the Ni-MH batteries. This was alittle surprising since the mass was greater. I will rerun the Ni-Cd test again to make sure the batteries were not depleted. Ni-Cd and Ni-MH, based on what I have researched, should have close to the same voltage.

Track Assembled

Some students put the short track up today. It needs to be levelled and the timer needs to be flipped around so we can read it.

Car Assembly

Assembled per instructions today.
Next time test.
To-Do: Sand edges, research high performance motors, fix 3 wheel problem, and maybe place some decals or paint.

Notes

Completed motor and transmission. 4:1 Gear Ratio

Starting with alkaline batteries, but will try as many chemistries as possible.

Finished car minus paint and decals. Race Ready!
